Important Appointment Information

We know the Covid-19 pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone, but also that we need to be there to care for you and your dental needs, we have been working very hard to reconfigure the way we operate so that we can resume care as quickly as possible while always ensuring your safety.

We too, at Pickering Dental Health Practice have had to adapt our way of working to keep everyone safe, so please do work with us to provide you with the best dental care for your needs.

Please read the following to be informed of our new way of working.

Before your visit:

*Please update your medical history and sign the consent form in the email we will send to you 24 hours ahead of your appointment. This will save time during your appointment.

*Please ensure you go to the toilet before attending your appointment at the practice. As there are NO toilet facilities available at the practice.

*To reduce the number of patients in the practice at any one time, it is essential you attend alone or with carer only.

*Do not bring any belongings with you as there is no where to put them.

*Please wear a mask when entering the practice, you may take it off once in the surgery and the dentist has said they are happy for you to do so, but you must then put it back on once out of the surgery.

When you arrive:

*When you arrive for your appointment please wait outside the practice, following social distancing rules.

*DO NOT try the door, it remains locked at all times.

*Please DO NOT knock on the door, as we know you are there and will let you in once the dentist is ready.

*The nurse will unlock the door, confirm your name, and ask you to step forward.

*The nurse will provide you with hand sanitiser, and proceed to ask a few covid questions before you enter the building.

*We are currently operating one way system through the practice.

*You will the be taken directly to the surgery.

*Please note there are NO waiting room facilities at present.

During treatment:

*If you are booked in for a treatment, the dentist and nurse will be in full PPE attire.

*We are still limited to what treatments we carry out.

*Our hygiene therapist is back using her EMS machine, rather than using a hand scaler, to provide you with the best treatment.

*If an Aerosol Generating Procedure (AGP) is needed you will be booked in at another time.

*As soon as your appointment has finished, we will provide you with more hand sanitiser and open the surgery door for you and instruct you to make your way to reception to be greeted there, to make another appointment or for payment.

*Reception will direct you out of the disabled entrance.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding during this time.
